On the behalf of myself and the rest of the residents in your Argyle Street building, I just wanted to express my gratitude towards you for enrolling in a recycling program and obtaining bins for us to place our recyclables in. As one who used to have to drive to the recycling center to deposit my recyclables, I found it to be very convenient as well. I would also consider the program to be an instant success based on the fact that both bins were completely filled within three days of placing them in our outside common area. I also found your gesture to be very responsible and sensitive to your tenant’s needs, which are two qualities that are very rare to find in landlords.

1st Chicago Apartment Rentals is also called The Schirm Firm. My husband and I have rented from them for a few years now. ... Our building manager, Branco, is extremely responsive and very nice. Branco keeps the grass and landscaping looking beautiful. During the winter, he's on top of the snow removal and putting down a lot of salt to prevent ice. He puts up notices when they are going to do their quarterly pest checks or annual water heater cleanings or any other kind of building service. He'll even help put in your A/C, if needed. We LOVE our apartment and Branco. The price is extremely affordable and in a great neighborhood (Ravenswood).

I was referred to the Schirm Firm by a coworker who had previously rented from them & I couldn't have been more pleased with my apartment, the building engineers & with my interactions with management. They were always working on the building so it was immaculate and very comfortable to live in. And their responsiveness to any issue was incredibly fast & efficient. If I had not bought a house, I would still be renting from them.

Please pass along to [building engineer] Lubo and whoever else on staff assisted with the snow removal around the building, that they did an AWESOME job! I didn't think I'd be able to do laundry for a week, but the snow was gone from the back porch area by yesterday afternoon, as was the huge snowdrift in front of the front door! The sidewalk was shoveled and the ice was removed from it as well. I feel like a VIP walking up to my apartment, especially considering what the other buildings look like. Kudos to Lubo and the rest of the staff!

Just wanted to let you know what a pleasure it is renting from you. I have lived in Chicago for over five years and have never enjoyed an apartment more… The building is beautiful and meticulously maintained by the janitor and his wife… Thank you for being such great landlords.

Thank you... for being such wonderful landlords throughout the past years. I have always appreciated the excellent upkeep on the building and your prompt attention to any problems. Friends visiting my apartment would often comment on the neatness and quietness of the building and its pretty landscaping and well-cared for lawn. I hope to find such a nice, quiet and safe apartment in New Mexico. I hope, too, that the owners will be as friendly and professional as all of you are. Thanks.

Many friends visiting have remarked on how beautiful the landscaping is during the spring and summer. And it is! It has been a pleasure.

It has been an interesting experience living in your building! I have always felt safe, the apartment was warm and your family and staff have been wonderful. [The janitor] is an exceptional maintenance man! ... Thank you for providing a lovely home for me the last two years. It has been my pleasure doing business with you. I have told everyone I know this is the only apartment I have ever lived in where the owner is conscientious and professional. I wish you and your family a peaceful and successful life.

I just want to thank everybody there for providing the comfortable, clean and reasonably priced accommodations for me... You maintain excellent high standards of maintenance and [the] upkeep of your buildings both within and outside on the grounds as well. As (2) year tenants in the building, I would like to thank everyone… and, of course, the janitor, for all the up keeping, cleanliness and well kept maintenance of the building. Of all the apartments I’ve seen or rented, yours was the most prompt service and well maintained building. Thank you so much for everything!

I regret that I will not remain in my apartment. This is by no means because I am unhappy with the building, or your services as landlord. In fact, my current apartment is by far the best since I moved to Chicago. I am not [renewing] because I am moving to Budapest, Hungary to begin a business consulting service… When I return to the United States, I would very much like to move back into one of your buildings if space is available… You have been wonderful landlords, and I appreciate the quality of your property management.
